NATIVE YOUTH SUMMIT

The Native Youth Summit brings together Native youth from Tribes across the Southwest for knowledge sharing, community connection, and leadership development. Through workshops, panel discussions, and networking with Native leaders, artists, and allies, participants explore advocacy, policy, film and media, art, climate, and culture.
Held every other year during off-election cycles, this two-and-a-half-day program offers:
-
Training and workshops focused on advocacy efforts and community organizing
-
Panel discussions with Native leaders and experts from across the country on topics ranging from civic engagement to storytelling and representation,
-
Networking opportunities with special guests (e.g., Zahn McClarnon, Mo Brings Plenty, Jhane Myers, etc.) and community leaders (e.g., Jaynie Parrish, Holly Cook Maccaro, Jade Begay, etc.)
-
Community celebration and entertainment provided by Native artists (e.g., Kinsale Drake, Talibah Begay, Scotti Clifford, Mato Wayuhi, etc.)
The Native Youth Summit provides unique opportunities to hear from and elevate the voices of Indigenous youth, and to foster and empower their passion, resilience, creativity and leadership.

"‘When Natives Vote’ was very much inspired by what I learned at the [Native] Youth Summit. It’s also where I was introduced to Anthony Tamez of CNAY and without his guidance I wouldn’t have been a 23/24 Champion for Change.”

"If it wasn’t for the Native Youth Summit, I wouldn’t have been introduced to policy work which lead me to my summer internship at the Navajo Nation Office in DC.”
